1. Gas Meters

Supply and installation of gas meters.

We can supply and install most types of gas meter from the large domestic meter to the most sophisticated industrial and commercial application.

We an also supply and install associated metering management systems.

Squire Energy offers advice on the siting of gas meters to ensure compliance with all current legislation and Codes of Practice.

2. After the Gas Meter

Supply and installation of outlet pipework `downstream` (after) the gas meter up to and including the `gas plant and equipment` (e.g. boilers, burners, air heaters, radiant heating systems, water heaters, commercial catering equipments etc.) for large domestic properties, commercial developments or industrial applications.

We offer a bespoke design, construction, installation and project management service to supply and install suitably sized welded or screwed steel pipework located above ground and polyethylene (`PE` or `plastic`) pipework located below ground (either in a trench excavated by our own groundworkers or in a trench suitably excavated and reinstated by a customers own contractors) from the meter to the plant and equipment.

We also offer a bespoke, design, construction, installation and project management service covering many types of commercial gas utilisation equipment.

3. Disconnections and Isolations

Disconnection and isolation of existing gas supplies.

If you have an existing gas supply which is no longer required or needs to be disconnected to allow your development to progress we can arrange for this to be carried out.

To receive a quotation to have gas mains or services disconnected please complete the application form and send with the additional information required into our office or, alternatively contact us directly.

Please note, If you request the disconnection of the gas supplying your property then you must first make certain that no sum remains outstanding / payable to you / your clients’ gas supplier and in addition you should also ensure that you have arranged with the gas supplier to have the gas meter removed before the date the disconnection is to be carried out. This (meter) work can only be carried out via your gas supplier. If you do not know who your gas supplier is please call the Meter Inquiry Line on Tel: 0870 6081524. If a gas meter is not removed prior to the disconnection of the gas service(s) then the works will not be carried out and will have to be re-planned –possibly causing delays and resulting in additional costs.

4. To Obtain Existing Gas Mains Plans

To obtain information on the location of existing gas mains and service.

If you are undertaking a new development and would like information on the location of the existing gas mains and services adjacent to the site curtilage we offer this service to developers and building services consultants.

To receive the current details (plan) indicating the location of the existing gas mains and services in the immediate vicinity of your development, please contact us directly.

Please note, the plan forwarded to you shows pipes owned by National Grid Gas Plc or the relevant Gas Distribution Network in their roles as Licensed Gas Transporters (GT). Gas pipes owned by other GT’s, or otherwise privately owned may be present in the area. Information with regard to such pipes should be obtained from the relevant owners. The information shown on the plan is given without warranty, the accuracy hereof cannot be guaranteed. Service pipes, valves, siphons, stub connections etc are not shown but their presence should be anticipated. No liability of any kind whatsoever is accepted by Squire Energy Limited, National Grid Gas Plc, the relevant Gas Distribution Network, any GT, or their agents, servants or contractors for any error or omission. Safe digging practices, in accordance with HS(G)47 must be used to verify and establish the actual position of mains, services, pipes and other apparatus on site before any mechanical plant is used. It is your responsibility to ensure the information contained on the plan is provided to all persons (either direct labour or contractors) working for you on or near gas apparatus. The information included on the plan should not be referred to beyond a period of 28 days from the date of issue.

Unfortunately we are not able to provide any information on any existing wayleave or easement in place as this information is confidential and is the property of the GT.

5. Diverting Existing Gas Supplies

Diverting, re-routing and alterations to the current location of existing gas supplies.

Please note, although we offer this service to our customers we do not own / operate any existing gas network and therefore will liaise with the relevant Licensed Gas Transporter (GT).

7. Design – C.A.D.

We offer a full design service to establish the optimum performance of any proposed new gas pipework system (before or after the gas meter) or any existing gas network or installation.

We utilise our team of experienced professional gas engineers and our recognised and approved computational network analysis software and can provide a full report and drawings.
